Even though we’re in the depths of winter on the Mornington Peninsula, the bursts of sunshine are letting us know that summer is coming!
With the warmer weather just around the corner, you may be thinking about getting fitter and healthier.
And what better way to get off the couch and into the outdoors than to set yourself a fitness challenge.
If you love entering fun runs (that have an option of walking) while helping raise money, the Arthurs Seat Challenge is a perfect event to train for!
This event has been held annually since 2002 and was established to promote the “Fit to Drive Program” – a road safety program that’s successfully educated young people about safer road use.
And if you start training now, you’ve got until Sunday November 9 to work towards improving your fitness, strength and endurance.
As you plan towards this event, it’s a perfect time to book 3 nights at Rye Beach Abode.
You’ve pre-ordered your groceries from Woolworths or Coles so we can unpack them and have Rye Beach Abode set up for arrival.
You set off from work on the Friday afternoon, driving only 75-minutes from Melbourne on the Monash Freeway or Eastlink, then onto Peninsula Link.
As you drive up to Rye Beach Abode you smile and give yourself a pat on the back – what a fabulous idea this was!
After you unpack your bags, you walk to Rye front beach. Your muscles feel strong and ready for the Arthurs Seat Challenge.
Any residual work stress melts away as you watch the perfectly formed waves and feel the last of the sunshine on your skin.
You walk back to Rye Beach Abode and get ready to go out for dinner.
Saturday is your day to explore the Mornington Peninsula as you mentally prepare for ‘race day’
Sunday you complete the Arthurs Seat Challenge, enjoy the post-race massage then celebrate back at Rye Beach Abode.
Monday morning arrives and you drive back to Melbourne.
