Art Red Hill May 1-3, 2015

This year marks the 35th year of Art Red Hill at Red Hill Consolidated School.

Art Red Hill was established by parents from the school as a fundraising exercise. Since then, Art Red Hill has established a reputation on the Mornington Peninsula as the premier art show.

Visitors to Art Red Hill can expect to see artworks including:

  • sculpture,
  • glasswork,
  • ceramics
  • wearable art,
  • painting, and
  • photography.

The Art Red Hill opening night on Friday May 1 offers the opportunity for all attending to be the first to buy the fabulous artwork. With live music, local beer and wine and food, it promises to be a great night out!

Adult tickets can be pre-purchased for only $25 or can be bought on the night for $30. Get your tickets here.

A highlight of Art Red Hill is Opening Night, one of the region’s most anticipated events, offering the chance for those attending to be among the first to buy. It also features live music, canapés and local beer and wine at bar prices. What’s not to love about that!

Montalto Sculpture Prize 2015

Montalto Sculpture Prize 2015

The annual Montalto Sculpture prize is on until Sunday May 3, 2015.

The fabulous grounds of Montalto have over 20 permanent sculptures placed amongst the garden, wetlands and vines.

And until the start of May, you’ve got an opportunity to see the entrants in the Montalto Sculpture prize and cast a vote for the People’ Choice Award!

Buy a glass of wine at the cellar door and take a walk around the grassy lawns, through the vines and on the boardwalks. With the cooler and wetter weather, it’s recommended you wear walking shoes and gumboots.

The trail is manageable with off-road push chairs. Unfortunately it’s not suitable for wheelchairs, however with advanced notice Montalto can arrange transport to various sections of the trail.


 The judges for the Montalto Sculpture Prize 2015 are:

SeaSwell Peninsula Charity Walk

The SeaSwell Peninsula Charity Walk will be held on Sunday May 3, 2015

In it’s third year, the SeaSwell Peninsula Charity Walk has two walking options. A 20km walk from Cape Schanck to Blairgowrie and a 10km walk from Rye Back Beach to Blairgowrie. 

The focus this year is mental health, with all money raised going to Headspace Frankston. Organisers would love you to wear bright green to show your support for mental health.

The SeaSwell Peninsula Charity walk has set up a supporter page where participants can get support from their family, colleagues and friends.

This year SeaSwell Peninsula Charity walk has introduced an early bird special of only $50 (a saving of $5) up until Friday 17 April. Although online registrations will close on Friday 1 May, you can register on Saturday May 2 at Blairgowrie Village from 8am-4pm.

The Briars Outdoor Cinema

If you love watching movies outside, head to the Briars Outdoor Cinema!

From Friday March 27th – Sunday April 12th, the Briars will be showing new and classic movies.

Bring your family and spread out your rugs on the beautiful lawns of the Briars at Mount Martha, 450 Nepean Highway, Mount Martha.

As you enjoy watching the movies under the stars, you can feast from your own picnic basket or enjoy the food served from the gourmet food trucks.


Tickets are available on the night, but to avoid disappointment the organisers are suggesting that you pre-purchase them here.

Each Sunday there will be live music from Dan M before the movies start – a great way to end a weekend with music, dinner on the lawns then a movie!

Red Hill Show 2015

Red Hill Show 2015 – Saturday March 28

The Mornington Peninsula is hosting the 87th annual Red Hill Show.

The Agricultural Show began in 1922 where locals exhibited flowers, apples, vegetables, cakes and preserves.

The Red Hill Show is a family friendly, community event with entertainment, exhibitions, demonstrations and animals.

A family ticket (2 adults and 3 children) is only $50.

Over the years there’s been more categories added to the schedule, to reflect the changed in farming on the Mornington Peninsula.

Peninsula Piers and Pinots

Peninsula Piers and Pinot – Sunday March 8, 2015

Love Pinots? Head to Flinders Pier!

For only $35 you’ll have an opportunity to taste Pinots from twenty two Mornington Peninsula producers.

Arrive by 12noon and stay until 3pm as you indulge in the picnic style food provided by:

  • Red Hill Roast,
  • Calamari Brothers,
  • Flinders Sourdough,
  • Red Hill Cheese,
  • Hart’s Farm, and
  • Handmade Ice Pops.

Each ticket includes a complimentary Riedel tasting glass, all pinots tastings between 12noon – 3pm and tasting notes.


The Peninsula Piers and Pinots event has been held annually on the Sunday of the Victorian Labour Day long weekend, since 2002 and is a very popular wine event.

  • Moorooduc Estate,
  • Paringa Estate,
  • Portsea Estate, and

There will also be a farmers market, live music and a yacht race being held off Flinders. Parking will be available at Flinders Golf Club.

2 Flinders Market 

The Flinders Market will be held on Easter Sunday 5th April between 9am – 2pm at the Flinders Cricket Ground (B.A.Cairns Reserve Stokes Street, Flinders)

This picturesque cricket ground overlooking Westernport Bay to Phillip Island is a fabulous setting for the stalls of fresh produce, crafts, bric a brac and take away food.
