The Mornington Peninsula Hinterland Scarecrow Festival is nearly here.
This year the festival will be held between September 20 and October 19.
And with 27 fabulous scarecrows scattered around the hinterland, this free festival is fabulous for families.
Each participant has been encouraged by the organisers of the Hinterland Scarecrow Festival to use recycled materials as the make their scarecrow.
This year a cash prize will be awarded to the scarecrow entrant that demonstrates the message, “Recover, Reuse, Recycle”.
And an artistic award will be given to the scarecrow who best depicts the theme “Mother Nature”.
Scarecrows will be in a range of diverse places including:
- cellar doors,
- cafes, and
- food stores.
